Magazine

Title: Feminathletes

Cover

·      Main Image: Women’s Golfer

·      Font: I will include bold font for my feature article to emphasize its importance, and smaller font for the side pieces of the magazine. For the title I will increase my font size and use the font IMPACT.

·      Masthead: The masthead will appear on the bottom right corner of my magazine cover as I want to give my authors proper credit, but I do not want it to be the cover’s focus.

·      Selling Line: Anyone can swing the iron!

Feature article

·      Title: Ms. PGA

·      Content: I will feature articles about the best female golfers from around the world. Since women’s golf is commonly overlooked, I would like to spotlight their achievements and skills. I also want to highlight certain challenges that women athletes have had to overcome simply because of their gender. I want to heavily convey the idea of gender equality in athletics to my audience.

Content Page

·      Styling: smaller bold black font in a Hoefler Text. Our content page will also feature background Images that relate to our respective sports. For example, I will Include something golf related as the background such as a golf ball on a tee, or an open course.

·      Title ideas: PGA for all, one for all all for one. I want my title to convey that golf is not gender specific and I think the title will help me convey my idea of gender quality.

  Wednesday December 16, 2020:   I messaged 5 of the world's top 20 women's golfers on Instagram in hopes to receive an interview and a photoshoot.  Danielle Kang, Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, Brooke Henderson,  and Jennifer Kupcho. I am currently waiting for their respon s es .   Seeing as these women are very popular, I will most likely not receive a response from any of them . If this is the case, I will focus on someone more local, or even somebody that attends my school.   For the interview I plan to write a script of  questions that  I will ask my interviewee. For the photos I will need props such as clubs and attire. Surely the golfer I’m interviewing will have these things on-hand, but  I will still contact her first before the photoshoot. Storyboard Introduction

The most challenging part about the story board for me was the artwork. I have never been good at drawing so it took me a bit to get exactly what I was looking for. However, this is not an issue going forward with my actual magazine was not an issue, since I will be taking pictures rather than drawing them. I think the thing that I liked most about the storyboard was its flexibility. " One of the best things about this process is its flexibility. You don't have to follow the rules exactly. And you can change the boards around easily" (Higgins, 1995). This quote resonated with me heavily because of how much it  related to my favorite part about the storyboard. The storyboard was so enjoyable for me mainly because I didn't have to worry if my work was right or wrong, and I could do it exactly how I wanted to do it.
